just because that was Ray's boss's opinion doesn't make it true.

I had almost the same reaction as you. Interestingly, as someone who's been a supporter of the show since the pilot, this finale left me with no interest in picking it up for season three.

did YOU watch the sex scene this week? there's nothing wrong with communicating during sex and if something isn't working, being vocal about it. jfc. being jackhammered and called a dirty whore isn't everyone's cup of tea.

i think you mean rimming.

troll elsewhere

Hey the CRAZY thing about consent is that it can change at any time so if the person you're having sex with obviously doesn't like it maybe you should not do it.

But she was clearly uncomfortable/unhappy with what he was doing so what do you call that? Not snarking, genuinely curious.

"Sexual assault doesn't always happen in a stairwell w/ a stranger. This is what it looks like much of the time." Agreed—I'm glad that this scene was shown, and somewhat dismayed that so many people are saying, "well she didn't shout no/put up a fight, so it's not rape." Maybe not by that narrow conventionally

Agreed. And like Myles said, I'm glad the issue wasn't dragged out and pleased that episode didn't make the will-she-stay-does-he-know a central focus.

I hope Sherlock pulling random pranks to keep Joan on her toes becomes a running detail—they could mine really great comedic moments while also subtly showing her improvement/anticipation of his antics.

The note in blood reminded me a bit of A Study in Scarlet, but I could be reaching, what with the lack of vengeful Mormons and all.

"She does it so often you have to believe it's her main reason for doing the show."

Snaps to Joan for shutting the whole "moody because period" thing down and to Sherlock, for tasting a severed finger.

Yep. From what I remember from the canon stories, half the time the whodunit was not as fun/exciting as the seemingly remarkable deduction that led Holmes to the perpetrator.

Seconded. JLM's minute facial expressions during the closing scene were fantastic as well. I thought I would hate it, but I am loving the focus on his addiction/recovery.

Unless it is a SUPER meta dig at Moffat's and Gatiss's own twitter feeds, on which (Gatiss, at least) has insulted Elementary in the past.

Kind of like members of a top-secret CIA mission getting sweatshirts made with the mission's acronym, taking pictures wearing it, then having the murderer wear it while killing a colleague in Hounds episode from the BBC version.

I was wondering the same thing—it's been a while since I saw the SHERLOCK finale, but wasn't the "I believe in Sherlock Holmes" more of a fan creation after the fact?

Same. I was waiting for Log Lady to appear. Now I just might have to make a Log Lady Dalek twitter handle.
