The song is a classic, but i'm sick of it as well.  Steven's voice isn't very strong ( even though it has a nice raspy timber).  Mostly it's the cliched hippie soul arrangement I don't like.  Btw, The Isley Brothers did a great version of "Love The One You're With".  If you're sick of the original, give the Isley's

I don't see how Lou Reed was being a jerk. Loved it when he insinuated she was a dyke. With her "cute" remarks, she kinda deserved it. Rule: If your gonna spar with your subject, don't be surprised if they hit back.
