As was I. It was almost like they were saying to the audience, don't worry, he's not going anywhere.

So that means you're gonna…
…go upstairs and eat this muthafuckin' Chinese food in my fuckin' room.

Ooooooooooooohhhhh I hope they ensue!

B+ is probably generous. It was an average episode, not destined to become a classic. B/B+ is a good grade for it.

Cold Open…
Was hilarious. Basically Michael is getting a colonoscopy, and he thinks it would be appropriate to ask Oscar what to expect, ass-wise, in gruesome detail. Classic Office awkwardness.

Novelty factor
When I first watched this film, I literally could not stop laughing. But it doesn't hold up. Maybe because it was done to death as a pop culture touchstone after. I feel like it works once, just because it sort of hits you over the head and you're like "what the fuck was that?" There are some funny bits

Sometimes there's a man… I won't say hero… cause what's a hero? But sometimes, there's a man. And I'm talkin' about the Dude here - the Dude from Los Angeles. Sometimes, there's a man… and well, he's the man for his time and place. He fits right in there. And that's the Dude. The Dude, from Los Angeles.

That opening sequence in Up just might be one of my favorites in all of film.

Well said
I think a lot of what you're talking about has to do with natural intuition vs. forced technique. Film schools and Sundance labs can teach narrative structure, do's and don'ts, etc. until the cows come home but in the end its what works for the particular film. That's why there are exceptions to everything

The big thing is the lack of punctuation in his posts. I always imagined a guy who just started yelling and then didn't stop until his point was made. Made things funnier for me.

Wow
First off, LOL. Second, I'm not sure about hearing ZMF's voice. I had this mental sound in my head of some guy just yelling and not using punctuation and it only enhanced his posts.

E's assistant
I actually find this chick interesting, not to mention she's hot. Disappointed that it seems like they won't be getting together, I have a feeling that storyline would have been better than most of what we've been treated to this season.

Exactly
I was in the same position… I WANTED to like it but… meh. Just couldn't get into it. There seemed to be big gaps between laughs but whatever it was that filled it in was irrelevant, case in point, Schwartzman's interaction with Danson. I'll give the second episode a shot, simply because pilots are hard to do,

Did not disappoint… Larry never does
What a great episode. It made me remember just why I love this show so much. I was doubled over in laughter numerous times, especially when Larry tried to race the doctor home. Classic Curb. So glad it's back.

I thought this was pretty good…
I laughed out loud a couple of times and I was impressed at the almost philosophical slant it took at times. Most shows wouldn't dare to bring the term "moral relativism" into play. Anyway, McHale is fun to watch so I'll be back next week.

I second Iranian art house. I've been getting into Kiarostami. I'd love to hear other's thoughts on someone like Makhmalbouf. And I just butchered that name, I know.

Who the fuck plays pickup football with Brett Favre anyway?

The split-second boob was not an adequate reward for sitting through the atrocity that was that half-time show.

Dunno. I enjoyed the reference, but it was odd.
