Hmmm…
The last time Nick Cage was replaced, we got Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler. If Green Hornet is a success, the new formula in Hollywood will be hiring and firing Nicholas Cage.

This would be funny if it wasn't absolutely 100% true.
AV Club had a thing on free passes awhile back…
…and Mike Judge gets a free pass for Office Space. Amazing movie, and so damn quotable.
Not a fan
Love Waking Life, love Before Sunset and Sunrise, love Linklater in general. But I can't get into Slacker. There's something that's really interesting to me about his later films that's missing from this one. I realize its his most widely recognized film (beyond Dazed and Confused) but something about it…
Hmmm I agree that the Waking Lifelife-Before Sun-Slacker series of films definitely have their own stamp, but compare that with his more commercial work (School of Rock) and you won't find too many similarities.
Pleasantly suprised
I've kind of soured on QT lately, but this was enjoyable for what it was. I've stopped expecting any kind of intellectual depth from his films though, the closest you can get is a mini-rumination on cinema, since thats what he knows. But this was a fun ride with some really great bits. I do agree…
That seemed to me more self-referential than anything. Shades of pregnant Uma vs. the assassin in Kill Bill. I don't see many similarities between Shaymanlan and QT, though I'll give you self-indulgent. Shaymalan doesn't have QT's cinematic sensibility, ear for dialogue, or, frankly, skill. Though QT was going on at…
I hate Paul Haggis.
The thing is Crash is the worst case of these kind of movies. Magnolia and Short Cuts did it 10 times better and many years earlier.
Its Always Sunny
I second hanging with the Its Always Sunny crew, they seem like some really chill, funny guys. Then again I envision us getting in crazy hijinks like on the show. I have a hard time separating fiction from reality I guess. Its why I almost answered Jeremy Piven to this question before I realized I'd…
Chloe Sevigny, is that you?
"Call me SIR, goddamnit!"
Enjoy it while it lasts
I'm really digging the show. Its hilarious. A sure sign it will be cancelled soon.
Argh!
I was literally just thinking today about how I need to watch this movie soon, and then AV Club goes and posts a cult canon on it.
Lyons is dead!
Long live Scott!
…
I thought this episode was the best of the season so far, highlighted by a truly funny David Schwimmer cameo. Agreed that I didn't find Turtle or Vince's issues compelling, but Drama's bit was funny and E is basically the main character at this point and I find his shit at least semi-compelling (if only because I…
Apatow
I saw this last night and really dug it the more I thought about it. Its not as funny as Virgin or Knocked Up, but Apatow has more on his mind in this film. Its an evolution for him. Not everything completely works in the film but the stuff that does is so good for a Hollywood film that I'm willing to forgive…
My 3 favorite things in life…
Might just be Arrested Development, The Big Lebowski, and Calvin and Hobbes. I should have been interviewed on all 3 of these, dammit.
Yeah, but if you paid attention to what he said it seemed like there was some bad blood between him and the guys who ran the show. Those guys have a mini-feud with Kevin Smith too. IDK, Seth's reaction definitely surprised me but he's so different in every other interview that I have to guess that some shit went down…
Sloan's way hotter. Also the other girl is annoying to me.
I like the semi-shift back toward Hollywood…
The first two episodes this season were all focused on relationships, at least this one injected a bit of LA back into it. The season is gradually getting better, IMO. But the first episode was kind of pointless in retrospect, what did it really add that the second one…
