Very nuanced and comprehensive dissection of what made DKR such an influential, downright awesome, and deeply problematic landmark in the history of comics. My only major disagreement with the piece is JAMs dismissive takedown of TKJ. Yes that work is ugly, misogynistic, and downright disgusting in how it approaches

Agree totally. Could not even count the number of Batman nods. Agree also that it was D'Onofs delivery that made the Samaritan tale so powerful. With another actor it could have come off as rote or cliched.

Maybe not the strongest episode of the season but Fisk's telling of the tale of the Good Samaritan with the closing quote "I am the ill intent" was classic. I'll never forget that scene.
