i have no idea if it is that or maroon 5 or maroon five btw

phoenix is that band to me that I want to really like, and some stuff I like pretty good, but i just can't really get into em. I too feel they are kinda boring and I am not entirely convinced they can play their instruments better than just competently (no guitar solos?! live show backs this up, which thanks to

WRONG BEAR
I immensely enjoyed Bear in Heaven's new CD. no one mentioned it…

i think the AV club forgot everything they blew their loads all over this year when putting together the top 5 that they forgot they went ape for embryonic as well

Phoenix
i would say WAP is a good album, but not great. I think about 3/4 of it is really good, problem is that it starts on such a great 1-2 punch it is hard to not be let down by fences or their instrumentals (which are total ASS live). I'd put it top 7 or so, but def not numero uno

interesting
1, 2, 3, and 5 were also on your top albums of the decade. I suppose sunset rubdown didn't warrant an inclusion. I am sure if you look at all of your best albums of the year from previous years they match up with the decade list just like this one! in short, fuck dirty projectors.

frankly my dear
i dont give a bram

or fred durst

remember…
that picture of birdman and lil wayne kissing on the lips? that's the only reason I've heard of this guy

nice
nice interview leonard, you should reward yourself with a nice big martini.

rockford, you are my man. sazerac is complex and simple at the same time. a solid, no frills, put hair on your ass, i'm really drinking almost straight rye whiskey cocktail, but the subtleties make it. you can have all the martini's and gimlets and old fashions you want. give me a sazerac, with the right bitters and

Banmar, general governing in the south is awfully corrupt at worst and assbackwards at best. New Orleans and Louisiana has had more corruption and wheel spinning than most throughout their history (Gov Huey P Long is said to have built a road just so he could have a straight shot from Baton Rouge to his favorite bar

personally, I kinda like em better with the herbsaint than the absinthe, but maybe that's cuz I got used to em that way before absinthe was decriminalized here. The only downside to this cocktail is that outside of the big easy it is hard as shit to find someone who knows how to make it let alone has even heard of it.

i've been having that combo since I was 5

wizard I concur! I said this in an earlier thread, but Evan Williams Green is hands down the best cheap whiskey there is

awesome mental image
Leonard Pierce sipping on a martini glass with pummeling heavy metal in the background

on the other end of things, I find that Evan Williams Green is by far the best plastic bottle bourbon and honestly tastes better than some of the better stuff

@warren, I didn't say I drank that combo. (tho at the store there you could get a 6 pack of high life for around 3-4 bucks making it by far cheaper than PBR or schlitz). Plus that guy seemed to be working to me. I don't think he gave a shit about particulars except that he probably had less than 5 bucks in his pocket

I can't stand strongbow but for some reason I can stand (and halfway enjoyed) the cheap 2 liters of clear cider like white ace or something like that. maybe it was that it was like 2 pounds for 2 liters and I was studying in england when the american dollar was about half the value of a pound.

the bar right by my old place in NOLA was a huge dump, but there was always this cook that came in by himself same time every night and ordered the same drink every night, and only one and then left.
