Counterpoint: Midnite Vultures

Yeah, that was actually much better than I thought it would be. In fact, the "bloody ending" felt completely tacked on. It would make much more sense if (SPOILER, I THINK?) he stabbed one of the fake Chevys first, or better yet if he stabbed no one at all. Not everything has to end in lolgraphicviolence.

I'd like to take this opportunity to post "No Credit Card", Neil Cicierega's great remix of this song off of Mouth Sounds, the best album of last year.

"Dyaoww. Dyaow dyaow."
Or maybe "dunh".

There's also "yes sir I like it".

My favorite bit was Bean's attempt to (iirc) dump horse shit all over a town square, along with the agnoizingly slow buildup to the reveal of this plan.

This is really funny to me, because so many times now I've listened to The Ascension while writing long essays. I'm with Dennis Perkins. As long as its loud, repetitve and blocks out everything else I'm okay with it. The Fall's Hex Enduction Hour is one I've been listening to a lot lately.

Jerry Casale actually mentioned this in an AV Club interview, which unfortunately I can't post a link to because my phone sucks. However, I will poorly attempt to retell the story he told.

I disagree with your statement, but I think the idea of a band covering silence is funny. I will steal it from you. We are now even.

Oingo Boingo had the best version.

Your name is John, so you might be in the band.

Young Fresh Fellows, actually. I have memorized the lyrics to TMBG's "Twisting"

I guess this sorta counts as a new R.E.M. album

I would still love to see the original cut of Brain Candy.

Gang of Four's "Damaged Goods" is a pretty good "I don't need you anymore" song.

Are we not men?

Apparently Ray Manzarek thought the riff from Iggy Pop's "Lust for Life" was a ripoff of the riff from "Touch Me". He also thought "Johnny Yen" referred to his old heroin dealer "Gypsy Johnny" and that "flesh machine" was a reference to Johnny's infamous "motorized dildos".

Not at all boy!

Holy shit, someone on this site who isn't me who's still in high school. Probably
