First season Emma was all up in the P.I. racket because she wanted to hang wit Norman and his sex-slave book. She dropped the investigative biz once Norman went Team Bradley because Bradley is the worst and Norman+Bradley is only acceptable when in the head of Norma while she watches Bradley doing Yoga.
