I'm right with you here. Not only did I think it was pretty good I thought it was better than most of the pilots we've gotten this year, The Following is the obvious comparison and this was vastly superior. And better than who knows how many CW pilots of the last ___ number of years.
The hate for it just seems to be

It has been a while but I think that might have been a Wonderland rule and not a general Hat Travel law.

"Detention" is finally here and it was pretty much as fun as I remember. Monica Keena's Abby being evil just for the fun of it, seemingly out of the blue drama(which works for the most part), and a perfect shot of Pacey getting beaned with a basketball, I just love how it bounces off his face and hits the camera.

I was kind of disappointed with my revisit of this storm episode(if there is big enough pool of such episodes there could be an interesting article here), I think it was just too early in the show for it to work. Bessie, Bodie and Grams really don't have much to do and Pacey is cut off from the rest so it doesn't feel

I always found it amazing that the show came up with a way to make the Pacey/Tamara story a wee bit more ridiculous. "And now Doug points a gun at Pacey's face forcing him to tell Ms. Jacobs that he isn't gay."

I think a lot of what Dawson does and how he acts would come across better if he was younger, both the character and actor. His ignorance about, well, everything would feel more natural if he was just hitting puberty. The line mentioned in the review about his parents "perverse sex life" just doesn't fly coming out of

Was the vest an acceptable look for a high schooler in the late 90's? It looked painfully out of place but I'm not sure if that is just part of the hilarious fashion gap we have going on or not.

No way, the Sensei ditches the party once he delivers his "present" to Emily, which happens while Jack is still on his boat. I think the Sensei can ninja his way down to the beach and do what needs to be done quicker than Jack can run from his boat to the that beach.

My initial thought, and the one that feels right for some vague reason, was that the Revenge Sensei himself did it. If he is not in contention then all he was brought back for in this episode was to Deus Ex Machina Emily's box back into her possession.
