@The_Tuna:disqus But Korra gets thrown into a metal pipe and gets knocked unconscious. Consistency, people!

@avclub-fd1764f21ce533cc362d9938d39b5d6e:disqus How did Zuko join Team Avatar in Book 3? It's not unheard of. He would just have to prove himself.

@avclub-997c221538094d134659141cf61d51e3:disqus Could work, but still feels a little like 'magic metal'. I wouldn't mind if the metal benders COULD use metal bending to do damage to the bots (but not just crush them completely). It would feel a little more fair, give a greater sense of drama to encounters, and not…

I actually predicted that offsite. Given that there's really only two or three things/people that Korra cares about in the city (pro bending, Mako, Air Temple family), they've got to give her a personal stake in the battle against Amon. My call is that they'll kill off Asami, and Mako will join up with Amon for…

She also said that you can take fate into your own hands, which I'm pretty sure means that Katara's going to commit suicide.

Yeah, Lin asks Hiroshi if this was all a set-up, and he confirms it.

I actually hate the platinum thing, too (even aside from the non-realism). Like you said, it's just a way to de-power the benders. Chi-blockers and other acrobatic equalists, even the electric gloves, would be effective in the 'real' world of Republic City. These tanks being made out of platinum just felt like a…

@avclub-935f361fa2c753a8b94f28f3f94914cf:disqus Yeah, that is really frustrating. There are so many better places that the show could be going instead of wasting valuable minutes on the Mako/Korra preoccupation.

@avclub-5643089fc5312acca6e68376dca7ca81:disqus I don't get some of the hate I see on the boards for "The Beach". I thought it was phenomenal. Sure, maybe the fireside chat is a little too straightforward, but the main idea—that growing up as military prodigies has taken the ability to socialize away from these…

I would say to rewatch it. I felt exactly the same way after I watched it the first time. It improves a lot when you already know what's coming. It's not profound, but it is enjoyable.
