That bit about using earthbending to flip the mechs over was exactly what I was thinking when I saw it.  I also think they could have sunk the mechs into the ground with earthbending.  And who could do anything about it?  Not Hiroshi Sato, the non-bending sucker!

I actually kind of hope this is an elaborate double-cross.  The plot went from point A to point B to point C kind of mechanically (if you'll forgive the pun) this week.  Pretty much everything was as it seemed.

And it has one of the most perfect endings of any of these movies.  It could not have ended any other way.  Kind of worried that Miyazaki keeps talking about doing a Porco Rosso 2.

Actually, I just rewatched the episode, and his moves reminded me of Suki's.  A ton. I'm pretty sure she did that "swing around by the arm" move to Sokka in the first episode she appears in ("The Warriors of Kyoshi," or something like that).
