I personally enjoyed the Mark Duplass episode of wtf far more than Regan. Wasn't too familiar with outside of the league but really enjoyed the easy chemistry of the chat and hearing about his directing, depression etc. Reagan was funnier but didn't seem to go very deep.

It is not a perfect analogy but it is only quite recently that comedy podcasts have become so dominant. There a hell of lot of great podcasts that aren't as broad as comedy or as specific as gardening.

Because it is terrible and whilst Carolla has some talent he mostly squanders is it. He repeats the same stories over and over and most of the show is filler. In your world the av club should be writing more about csi and two and half men than breaking bad and parks and recreation.

They are doing the best job of anybody at the moment and I love them for it, however it is a fair criticism. It would be odd if the av club only reviewed comedy movies/tv shows with only a brief mention of other areas of interest and outliers.
