Give the Tennant era a shot. There are some amazing episodes in there. Same with Eccleston, but his stay just wasn't long enough. The Doctor Dances is one of my all-time favorites though.

Can't go wrong with any play on the Christmas Carol. Hard to believe it took Doctor Who this long to get to it. Really great execution and the perfect balance of fun, sad, and funny that Doctor Who loves to shoot for.
