Peekaboo is one of my favorite episodes but I don't know if it's scary. "Nightmarish" is how I'd describe it, there's inescapable dread and horror at the surroundings but that's a different kettle of undead fish than "scary."

The Cosby Show episode where Bill gives birth to a sandwich. For a young kid with who had the basics of birth down (as in, baby comes out of mom) but little else, that was bizarre and terrifying.

Are You Afraid Of The Dark's episode about vampires moving into the suburbs. Goddamn vampires.

Came here to make sure this was mentioned. My favorite finale, funny and heartbreaking.

I haven't gotten the most recent RFTT album but the reunion one of re-recorded old stuff is actually pretty good. The live/demo one is obviously great and has lo-fi charm but sometimes you want a version of So Cold that blasts through the speakers.

Little bit of rumbly Watt bass at the beginning. Definitely liking this, give me a nasty groove for five minutes and I am a happy camper.

Heh, now I'm visualizing a Prince and the Pauper remake starring Springsteen and Mellencamp.

And of course Sean's reporting betrays its own narrow ethnocentrism by accusing Italian-Americans of possessing "ire."

Well yeah, if you want to be OBVIOUS about it. But what about their poppy late 80s/early 90s period? The mid-90s renaissance? Their current abstraction? The noodly Mayo Thompson years? So many entry points! I'd pick Apocalypse Now! for the newbie, myself.

I also like the randomness of this. And since I haven't seen The Polar Express because of that uncanny valley shit, for all I know you're right!

And on a philosophical level, why would you do anything but eat leftover pizza cold? The sauce has a different tang, the crust a different consistency, it's like getting an entirely new meal! I love cold pizza and hot coffee for breakfast.

Yow's is great but Falkous gets the edge.

@mizerock:disqus "Here's an appealing fellow! Looks like they're a-PEEL-ing him off the road right now!"

Huh, never thought of his voice as Watt-inflected before, just really worn and grunty. You can't be too Watty without the Pedro-speak.

In other news, Mike Vago earns the undying enmity of Todd VanDerWerff by becoming the first AV Club writer (and human since 1992) to reference Kate & Allie.

I went to an RFTT reunion show some years back, with Richard Lloyd playing in the Peter Laughner slot, and it was a lot of fun but the audience was at least 95 percent pasty shut-in types.

Hey! I'm a Rocket From The Tombs fan! This article has my attention! Will have to listen to the track later, though.

"I'm horribly disfigured and my friends are dead! If only I hadn't gone to see the Diana biopic!"
