true, true. although, eliitist garbage, it may be a visual medium, but the odd ducks in freaks and geeks would certainly never be seen in a show like Mad Men. Not that they'd work, since part of the pleasure and point of the show is in its glossy shallow appearance. It was merely an observation, and not a criticism.

So… Mad Men casts real looking women?
Cause pretty much every person on that show is ridiculously gorgeous. I wish that were my reality.

Don't know if someone mentioned this already
but if The Great Train Robbery had been made today, nobody would care. So I'm with Tasha on the chronology of films. If Citizen Kane or City Lights had been made by me today, nobody would care, so maybe its a stretch for the summer season, but I think you have to take that

That's never a good sign
I saw the trailer for this movie during Pineapple Express and Tropic Thunder, the former with a bunch of younger kids, and even with the target demographic in the room (kids, not indiscriminate dumb asses) there wasn't a single laugh in the room. Not one. Nobody reacted at all, like the

Too… Many… Shows…
It's a good thing only three of them look like they're worth checking out. I can't take too many more series, with all the stuff already out that I need to catch up on. I'm really just excited to see Ron Perlman on TV.

My bab.

Speak for yourself, Dharma. I don't make a move without knowing exactly what Thomas Newman would do.

I think of her less as a teacher, and more as a Donald Rumsfeld. That torture scene at the end was brimming with Bush commentary.

Yeah, I was gonna put down libertarian, but wasn't sure if that was the most accurate description. I'm with you on the Who's Your Caddy comparison (That is what you said, right?), The slobs V snobs thing is definitely apparent here. This really is a Dangerfield movie, with references to the Atlantic City Steel Pier.

Captain America and Dwight Schrute are one and the sane.
That is all.

My Back To School theory
Back to School appears on the surface to be a harmless 80's college movie/Rodney Dangerfield vehicle, but its so much more. I've seen it on cable a couple of times and I've noticed a staunch Goldwater conservative view behind the generic 80's plot/evil Blonde haired jock villain/Performance by

Just saying
he's been on Colbert twice.

I am everything I hate (an internet cliche)
it must be difficult to sum the experience of reading Watchmen into 1500 words. There is an insane amount of depth, which leads me to the fear that this movie isn't worth making (I instantly became an internet cliche).

I'm so glad
that this article was written. I saw this film in a film class featuring five of Lee's movies, and seeing it then, removed from the critical opinions of this film from the time it was released offered an interesting perspective. My professor, Paul Arthur (who unfortunately recently passed away) wrote

I was reading the Alan Sepinwall Blog (actually found out about it through the AV Club, and my living in NJ) and he had an interesting theory about that child's future alcoholism. Since the show is supposed to go on well into the seventies, it's entirely plausible, and hopefully likely, that we'll get to see a drunken

I'm curious
if The Front was on the miscellaneous list because it only starred Allen, or because it wasn't good enough? It's a really interesting film, and does deserve some kudos, especially Mostel's breakdown. That was truly heartbreaking stuff.

Not with you on Sleeper 100 percent, and I love Bananas, since its easily his funniest film, but Zelig is a masterpiece. It says so much about the power of the cinema to retell history (and lie), as well as the American tradition of reinvention.

Nasty
Anyone else noticed and bothered a little too much by the fact that Nancy didn't wash her hands after putting the photos in the toilet? Than had a drink? Nasty.

"Something about him/her…
just rubs me the wrong way"

Seems more likely
that its due to the films major studio backing and a lot of marketability, since many major theaters are represented in the appeals process.
