He did an interview for some magazine they used to have in the local community college's Writing Center I worked at, and he said pretty much exactly that. he hated the daily shows, and liked being able to really cut into an issue.

Ya know, I think I get why she turned it down. I actually like Noah, but he's no Jon, and the truth is that nobody ever could be. "Successful Corespondent on the Daily Show who declined the offer to host" looks a lot better than "Person who tried to be Jon Stewart and failed remarkably"
