With you on this.

Mark Markmarkmark

I always thought he was saying "Your lover man".

You're assuming everyone can understand what he's saying. I STILL can't hear the "ck" sound at the end of the word "Mack", even now that I know the title.

I always assumed it was "Return unto me" or something similar, and always thought, "What an odd turn of phrase for an R&B song".

It was Paterson Joseph, which is why Gaiman confirmed it (Joseph played the Marquis de Carabas in "Neverwhere") before having to retract it when Matt Smith was announced as the new Doctor. I don't think the story about what happened there ever came out.

Well, his music's gonna start showing up everywhere NOW.

Right up there with Failure for bands that went tragically unappreciated in their time. Also right up there with Failure on the list of bands that Chino Moreno apparently knew were awesome way before the rest of the world did.

Failure, "Stuck on You"

Failure, "Stuck On You"

Did you just say Chewb?

Failure, "Stuck On You"

Huh. I was just thinking about this book and project yesterday, wondering what became of it. Go figure.

Great, I love a series of fast cuts that don't let you digest any information about what you're seeing. Super-effective.

SIASL is pretty exceptional. It's much more philosophical than the premise would lead the reader to believe.

Shame, that. I thought it was a wonderful book.

I'm glad you went ahead and read it! It's a lovely series, and every time I go back to it I find myself satisfied. It's one of the few childhood series I've ever revisited and come back richer afterward.

Jelly on the Saga read; I need to get caught up.

I was one of those who recommended Hyperion, and it is very good, isn't it? Fall of Hyperion starts a bit sloggier than its predecessor, but don't let that throw you; it picks back up, even if it isn't quite as breathtakingly fantastic as the first of the series.

Time for the regular infodump.
