You don't even get time to process the shock of Liz's sudden return before everything goes to hell. This episode is a prime example of how to make the audience feel disoriented in a way that works for the plot.

The whole beginning sequence was spot on funny and dark I was even having a little trouble processing it. The best moment for me was after his children thank Santa for all the stuff he went through hell to get he only manages to take credit for a little book that gets no flashback treatment at all.

I also liked the way Louie handled the resolution in China. The Foreign Mystic Who Helps White People is a pretty frustrating trope and even though it's a little weird that he was just invited into someone's house it's nice that what he needed was just a human connection. I like to think it's a meta commentary on a black man bastardizing a white man's music for once.

Absolutely loved the outfit dig on Russell Westbrook in the basketball sketch. I'm honestly not sure if I'd be surprised to see him wearing that in real life.

Historically, it was Lucrezia's second husband that really got the incest rumors going. I am guessing they're just trying to compact the narrative a bit.
