Just finished Universal Harvester. I'm a notably huge Mountain Goats fan—for a while I was writing a lot about exploring their discography, and I've written something like 90,000 words on JD's music, so I mean that—but I didn't quite feel like it clicked as well as Wolf in White Van. The quality of the writing was

Electromagnetically Induced Transparency?

"actual cannibal"

This book is incredibly important to me. You know how there's like, that slim handful of books that you can count as hugely important to who you ended up being? This one, when I was six, was the first entry on that list.

This is why it's been probably a year since I played LOL without at least one of my roommates joining in

My computer has a Linux and a Windows partition, one named Wintermute and one named Neuromancer.

Nobody, but then nothing ever gets to infinity, that's kind of infinity's things. I dunno, I'm a physicist, sometimes we play fast and loose with limits, mathematicians can yell at me if they want.

Actually, it pretty much is. If we have the quantities x and x - a, where a is some constant, then the two quantities have the same limit as x goes to infinity, and their ratio x/(x - a) goes to 1 as x goes to infinity.

This was pretty much the problem with Limitless in my opinion.

I'm reminded of every "Great Gatsby Party" I've ever seen

I think "myth" here should be read more as in "mythology" than as in "Mythbusters." America has a myth of the self-made man…we also have a lot of actual, genuine, self-made men (and women). Don is an interesting way to look into that myth not because he shows that it's false, but because he shows what it can cost.

Not with his recent off-season surgery, he won't.

Nah, evolution doesn't auto-correct like that. Now, if having muscles turns out to be a negative to the superpowered people—because of the nutrient cost in making them or something—then you might expect to see decreased muscle mass in future generations, if it actually affects their reproductive success.

Cringeomancer is an OP prestige class, for sure.

I am from Oklahoma, and I am not surprised to learn that.

How else will we keep the Kaiju out of the party?

Ok how about we try helmet on, hair down?

Maybe it's just me, but for me, I think she's pretty funny.

That sounds less useful but still actually pretty useful, for the purposes of trying to figure things out or just having additional time to plan/think.

Which one? That sounds good, but the only one I am thinking of is the one where they guy's past changes
