The more I think about it, I think I love Marnie the most for her insistence that her track needs some sweet bassoon. She's either a visionary or really fucked in the head

mmm yeah point. either way, they don't fit well with each other, because someone is always left feeling uncomfortable.
My experience is precisely the opposite then. Almost everyone I have known since my teens and early 20s exhibit pretty definite markers of growth and change. Definitely not the people we were at 25, thank god. (I'm 32)
I think the "old timey criminal" line is my favourite so far. Also, I think Adam Driver is hella attractive.
Hmmm…but I think the thing is that Natalia didn't necessarily like Adam for who he was - he was uncomfortable trying to fit in with her world and be less "weird" (like the whole "Yo, we're missing the game!" "…yeah". ) And maybe part of the uncomfortable sex thing back at the apartment (which she criticised) was him…
Yeah I do, because who WANTS to be a mess like that? She clearly doesn't know what to do, and keeps fucking up, and kudos to Allison Williams for playing her with some degree of sympathy. Even if Marnie is selfish and a complete mess at the moment, I actually really like her. Even if I am THE ONLY ONE!
maybe that means Charlie's success isn't gonna last that long? because his meteoric rise is based on something that is essentially a flash in the pan?
Absolutely agree. I love that Girls shows sex how it is more often than not. Awkward and fraught with misunderstandings and unspoken weirdness. Or maybe I'm just having really awkward sex.
Yep agreed about Ray. I mean, he helped Marnie! And even (sarcastically? I didn't read it as sarcastic, I actually took it as him trying to be nice?) was the only one to cheer for her after her disastrous serenade. Love is making him vulnerable, as Shosh is sort of….wisening/hardening up. That's gonna sting for him.
Yeah, I agree. I also think if you wanna get deep about it, on some level, apart from Adam punishing himself and trying to say without words "LEAVE ME" to Natalia, he was maybe trying to work out some anger that she KNEW he was an alcoholic and happily let him lapse, like SHE ORDERED THE DRINK FOR HIM. That's a pretty…
I feel kind of sorry for Marnie, because she is pretty lost, and aimless. And to be fair, Charlie DID just call her out on it, but then swiftly negated it by fucking her on the desk.
I can believe 20,000 people would download Forbid. I'd download it right now.
I totally think Ray's that blind. or wilfully ignorant. He doesn't want to lose Shosh, so he hears and believes that his quirky gf just held hands with a doorman
I read Adam's treatment of Natalia as him knowingly trying to drive her away, trying to make her disgusted with him. He was uncomfortable at the party, seeing Hannah amplified things and Natalia's comments about his apartment clinched it for him. So he acted in precisely a way he knew she would find abhorrent.
