Yeah, Henry Phillips is really funny, and "Punching The Clown" is a great, breezy little movie. I used to do terrible standup, and Henry came through my home club all the time. He was really encouraging and kind to all the open mic'ers and young upstarts. A really good, genuine dude who deserves tons of success.

For what it's worth (hint: nothing), I agree with everything Tasha said in her original argument and in her follow-up posts. I will use all of her arguments and claim them as my own when discussing this matter with friends because she has spoken more eloquently then I have. I will not pay her for this, but she won't

I get that some of you guys don't like Starbucks coffee or their practices, cultures, et. al. I have no opinion on the matter because I don't drink coffee and my wife hasn't worked there for years. That being said, do you really think that the people who work there (as a whole, not just the stray jerk barista) should

My wife and I saw JGL do a special guest song (with ukulele no less!) at one of the Wainwright Family Christmas concerts a few years ago. JGL mania had not quite hit the streets, so when Rufus introduced him as "the most beautiful man in the world," I turned to my wife to say "that's a bit of a stretch, right?" only

Listen up internet, @Scrawler2:disqus  and I have just reached a genuine, and therefor mildly historic, "agree to disagree" moment. If we were in the same room together, we would shake hands and decide to be friends, or at the very least, be friendly. Let the record forever show that this is a thing that is possible

Which is obviously why we don't have any professional musicians today. Oh wait…

And now I'm officially Clint Eastwood old and crotchety, but all I take from that is how lucky those players were to get union pay for what she is apparently willing to let college kids do for cheap beer most nights.

And now I'm just being belligerent old grandpa, but if a non-professional accepts the offer and satisfactorily performs the task at hand, then doesn't that mean it wasn't really a professional need to begin with?

But have any professional musicians even accepted her offer? I'm really curious about that. If no professional player (meaning regularly employed by their musical ability, and in my opinion, with no other significant outside sources of income) has shared her stage for free, then isn't it just her and her amateur fans

How often do these "crosstalks" actually start as really heated arguments at the office, only to be smoothed out with enough niceties that they're deemed fit for publication? Because I want to read/hear the version where they just yell at each other for ten minutes.

Wow, I was completely unaware of that case. So that was a pretty big asterisk for Normal Mailer, I suppose. I really hope Peter Jackson's biography doesn't get one. Though, I think we'd all like to see Vedder taken down a peg or two.
