Actually, because of the alt-history progression of Watchmen, I really didn't mind the songs there (as a sort of floating 'you are here' indicator, time-wise). Of course, I actually liked Watchmen. I'll pile on. Erik Larsen is a way better WRITER than Geoff Johns. I honestly don't even see them in the same league. Johns is like a modern Jim Shooter - he can write fast and edit like a machine, but the quality of everything he touches just goes to cardboard.
