I've long said that the biggest problem with Adore is that it had the name Smashing Pumpkins attached to it. If Adore had been released by a group without the preconceived notions or baggage of 1998 Smashing Pumpkins I think it would be looked upon a lot more highly than it is.

Probably because I either learned it wrong or because I haven't sat down and played it in years and my mind wanted the C# to be an F# for some reason. Or that whole aforementioned not looking at sheet music since I was 12 thing.

I can't speak for anyone else, but for me it's the cheesy production.

Once Upon A Time and The Tale of Dusty and Pistol Pete are both incredibly underrated.

Zwan was way better as a live act than they were in the studio.

The lack of Thru The Eyes of Ruby on either of those lists is disturbing.

Makes sense, thanks.

I'm not 100% sure because I haven't actually taken a piano lesson since I was 12, but I think it's in F#.

Oh my god your avatar and username are amaaaaaaaaaaaaazing.

I went to the show in Charlotte and it was incredible. I had some bootlegs from that tour but not Atlanta.

I taught myself to play Mellon Collie by ear. It's in a very odd key.

Perfect is the better of the two. I hearing an acoustic version of the song on a bootleg from that tour that was light years better than the studio version and would have fit better on the record.

Pro Tip:

A lot of Adore is basically droned out shoegazer type stuff. Shame and Behold the Nitemare come to mind immediately. Lots of feedback.

But did the translucent junebugs mirror the spiders before disconnecting from the cherry cola underworld?

I tend to be of the opinion that Bones is the most charming of the shows in the "procedural show about geniuses" genre, but that episode that was one giant advertisement for Avatar can go eat a dick.

I didn't know David Graf was dead and now I'm sad.

This is either going to make you very happy or make you want to put your head through a wall.
