I sorta think the Mr. Fox sequence was a nod to how so many hipsters seem to enjoy living in intentionally squalid conditions even though they usually have enough money to live in an average apartment or better, the parallel being that Mr. Fox clearly didn't have to live like that but chose to. Reminds me of that King

Frank's thick Midwestern accent really helped sell the tough guy thing

So glad to see the writers didn't ditch Jeff, I think he's hilarious, this was one of the best American Dad's they've ever done, and it was about time we saw where the hell Roger came from.
