Yeah, I would prefer to lean toward condemnatory phrases like "deceptive emptiness" and "superficial realism" to describe ZDT, rather than misguided praises like "the dominant narrative" of how Ace of Spades got shot in the face.

Indeed, I'm pro-Noel Murray writing whatever he wants.  I like him.

Thanks, dude.  I took another assignment in the Motherland (central Africa), doing security for a women's rights group and maybe helping locals conduct some democracy (establishing voting mechanisms, ballot security, ballot counting & anti-fraud measures, voter security, polling locations).

I just want to guard against allowing a movie to become more important than it should be.
There's a pattern of grooming Zero Dark Thirty as An Important Film.  This article by Noel Murray is a continuation of part of Scott Tobias's review, in which he wrote,
"Both cases testify to the potency of popular entertainment

It's cool, baby.  You're right, @avclub-6997a8bd0e1042b70b60c5c879a1780e:disqus , but the headlines establish that this article is "for your consideration," concerning a "challenge," so the writer should be flattered when others engage it as such.

He's not "into himself."  He & his peers are trying to latch onto the widely observed process of defining the significance a movie that is in the process of garnering a lot of views & making a lot of money.

Yeah, that poor guy is serving a 30+ year sentence there.

**Given how popular Zero Dark Thirty is likely to be, it’s going to be fascinating in the years to come to see how this one major early-21st-century event becomes defined in the culture by Bigelow’s personal take.**

I must've jumbled my pirate fight description so that people would watch Project A w/o being spoiled as to the awesomeness of the final fight.  Spoiler: It's awesome.

A Simpsons visual gag homage is all the remaking we need on this one, thank ye.

Groundskeeper Willie grooming his beard with a pushmower was *not* boring!

Well, @Dikachu:disqus , obviously you don't, now that the 'Skins have lost.

Nelson Muntz did the same warpaint thing in that old episode homaging Lord of the Flies, no?

Yeah, that was a nasty shot.  Strange how Family Guy, South Park, American Dad, or any number of other tv shows can get away with something like that, but that kind of violence just doesn't fit into the otherwise forgivable fantasy-invincibility trappings of The Simpsons cast & universe.

Do you rely on the punctuality of regularly scheduled The Simpsons episodes & the precisely timed internet postings of The Simpsons reviews for sustenance & shelter & life-preserving medication?
