No comic-book adaptation NEEDS to be made but, the way business is done, the high profile ones (Sandman included) are practically inevitable. Best we can hope is that when this finally does go forward, it goes forward with some dignity (and without Goyer).

I love your choice of Nick Frost as Merv's voice, and Doug Jones as Lucien, but I would also have Jones be the physical presence for Merv. He's not a stranger to playing multiple roles.

The characters, even the youngest of them, have existed for hundreds of thousands of years, so I don't see how 53 could be considered too old to play one.
