I'm not usually a huge fan of awkward comedy, but this show sympathizes more with the people for whom the situation is awkward than laughing at their expense. It does both, and I think that's why it works for me better than a lot of other comedy that works by capturing the awkward moments.

I thought it worked just because Marnie has been indicating she wanted a more alpha male guy in her life, and it was delivered with a lot of confidence. I know I sort of laughed at the line, but it works with her character that she would be incredibly turned on by that. She may realize she doesn't want to be with a

Really have to admire Jorah's character here. We've all seen his attraction to Dany throughout the season, but he shows that he's not sticking around because she's the second prettiest of all people with a claim to the throne (Robb Stark takes first). He really believes that she is the best ruler possible.

I'm sort of surprised it's taken this long to get a shipping argument started. Surely we must have had some in the past.

I was unsure until the scene between Tyrion and Lancel whether she was keeping that information from Tyrion so she would have something she knew and he didn't, or if Joffrey hadn't told her and she just wanted it to seem like she was in the loop on things when she has actually been systematically alienating every

I've also gotten the impression that the city watch was more like the police of the city than responsible for its defense against outsiders, although I guess it's possible that those roles wouldn't be as separate in the GoT universe.

If only they could have gotten Michael K. "Omar from The Wire" Williams to play him. I don't care how little it would work as a casting decision, I will watch anything he's in.

The dragon's are her shtick, but Dany does have a certain charisma that makes her a tough one to just kill off. Plus, she has a strong claim to the throne of Westeros that makes her attractive as a political ally even without the dragons. Knowing that she is their mother would give a smart opponent pause in thinking

It was also short on gruesome deaths. Renly and the guards Brienne killed were fairly clean. I almost wanted to say that the writers knew last week was loaded up with graphic imagery, both sexually and violently (and with the two combined), and wanted to lighten it up a little bit this week.

The girl's I watched with were pretty excited to get something to stare at while us males were left tit-less for the week.

Maybe I'm drawing too big a conclusion from little evidence, but it looked to me like the Vagina Shadow Monster dissipated after killing Renly. We saw it slide into the room along the floor, but it seemed to more vanish once it had stabbed Renly, and if we were meant to believe that it was still around I think they

I thought that the lack of speed helped to emphasize both that having Renly killed like that was the kind of dirty job on which Stannis' mind would not like to linger, and that now that he's dead the only people left mourning him are pretty much Brienne and Loras. His bannermen quickly converted to the Stannis side,

I think Theon is more just desperate for respect. He never felt like he really got it in Winterfell and now he's blatantly not getting it from his countrymen, or even his own family members. His sister has more sway than he does. I just think he wants it so badly that he now sees this as his only chance for it.

I have to agree with the comment about Amon. He is clearly an extreme badass and it's tough to acknowledge that while still despising him. It reminds me of how cool Jet and Combustion Man were, and how that made it tough to see them go.

Do people still think rainbow parties exist? I thought we had pretty thoroughly and entirely unnecessarily debunked the myth of the rainbow party, to the incredible frustration of every teenage boy jerking to that thought.

You should have taken a picture of her discreetly and then started combing the internet to see if you could find her in a porno.

@itisdancing:disqus  That sounds better to me.

I actually enjoy Dogville, but more for the aesthetic than the content.

You're fine saying you don't like The Hobbit, but if you talk shit about the Silmarillion someone will probably pull a shiv on you.

Mike Birbiglia was in this episode, and that makes it an automatic A+ even if his scene had been no good. As it is his scene with Hanna was phenomenal. He seems to have been playing exactly the guy he expects he would now be if he hadn't gone into standup comedy.
