silly silly silly
i don't know, i liked that the episode was a whole ridiculous farce. is it so wrong when a show goes off the rails for a bit? and since when does south park use current events as anything other than a means to poke fun at how silly the world can be sometimes? whenever they make a grander point, it's

Sorry, but no
I still don't get the STP love, especially since this blog didn't provide a single example of a good STP song - only one song was mentioned, and it was called "pretty terrible."

Rockwell's pretty much the man
It doesn't matter how cheesy or maudlin the film, he brings something refreshing to every role he's in. And I agree, Elitist Trash, I quite enjoyed his Zaphod. Also, though I thought Hitchhiker's Guide was flawed (that ending? blech), I enjoyed it, and thought they brought some clever

god, he isn't even trying
He only does, like, half an accent as the guru . . . but you know, woot John Oliver and all

Was I the only one . . .
. . . who wasn't exactly sure what Morton was doing to the body in that clip? Everything happens offscreen, but I gather from Tobias's write-up that it should be perfectly clear what's happening.

The Time Traveler's Wife
Ugh, I really don't get the love The Time Traveler's Wife gets round these parts. I'll admit, it was a page-turner, and had some very affecting moments, but that said . . . I don't know if I've ever read a book with so many blatantly obvious plot-holes and manipulative plot devices.

Really disagree with the judges this season . . .
Besides fawning over unimpressive plants like Carly and David Archuleta, they seem to be fairly tone-deaf lately

Sweet Condescension Batman!
"That's rather wicked, Nathan, you should've laughed at that."

Name Recognition
I almost didn't click on this, but I'm so glad I did - that was absolutely brilliant.

Seriously,
Linda Cardellini is so much more talented and so much better-looking than most all of the leading ladies working in Hollywood today.

c'mon stomper, you're coming across like that catcher in the rye professor who has the class yell at any kid who strays from the point

def. - that, and it's companion line " . . . and there's still a hole/where the phone was thrown, it's growing as we speak" really got to me

2 stages, really
The first tape I was maniacal about was Third Eye Blind's debut album - I was 10, and I thought "Motorcycle Driveby" was the most beautiful song in the world - though "Semi-Charmed Life" and "London" initially hooked me by just being ridiculously fun. It helped that I was too young to realize that

Absolutely Compelling
Thanks, AV Club

huh
how refreshingly pragmatic

Willem Dafoe
Is just so goddamn delightfully different

Thank you
I enjoyed all of those videos, and must admit I hadn't heard of about half the bands, so I now have some new music to check out.

Missing the Point
I think this article completely missed a huge reason to keep opening bands around: without opening bands, it would be much harder for a new band to break out.

poor christopher bahn
Man, between this and your "big head" post, you're really getting picked on.
