I'm also of age with the movie (I was in college when it came out), and I've always found it laughable, even back then.  It was definitely outdated as soon as it was released.  28.8 bps modem?  We had T1 lines in our dorm rooms, for god's sake.  I think what I really couldn't stand though was the fisher stevens…

That's not embarrassing.  That movie is pure awesomeness, especially the end.
