Right on, Josey Wales Motor Sales. I was a writer at TV Guide when you could actually do good journalism there, before Rupert Murdoch (aka The Antichrist) bought it. (I also studied with Judith Crist at Columbia J. School. She was a tough old bird who took pride in being a tough old bird. I didn't see much of her

I spent a fair amount of time with Tom Davis in the early 80s and can testify to the fact that he was a truly nice guy. Really smart and really funny. He drank *way* too much, but so did I at the time. His comment in the Times obit that he was heading toward de-animation suggests he faced death laughing, which doesn't

@Scotty Ray: You may have read/heard more about the origins of Wild Horses than I have, but the song credits are Jagger/Richards, though Wikipedia's entry says Parsons wrote the melody with Richards and came up with the title, which makes sense. Yes, that's a custom designed Nudie jacket (the ones worn by Nashville stars did not usually feature naked women, marijuana leaves, and pill). There's a bunch of photos of Gram posing with Nudie in the latter's shop.

She did, in the second verse.

And Marisa in those scenes seems to enjoy the opportunity to show off her amazing body.

@Aldo: I don't see how you can say that if you read this interview. The guy is obviously intelligent and no egomaniac. I came away very impressed. It didn't hurt that I thought he was excellent in Training Day and Before the Devil Knows You're Dead.

Agree with Bus Uncle: the solo at the end of Moonage Daydream is one of the greatest solos ever.

I believe George Harrison's "Crackerbox Palace" is about him.
