William H. Macy …
can do whatever he wants after Fargo. darn tootin'.
1968. I know that this is supposed to be about popculture, but what really made me feel old was the thought that my favorite pornstar was most definitely out of her productive (though not reproductive) age … and that was like 5-8 years ago … the vulgar Uma Thurman variant, if you want. What helps against feeling…
Are the Coen Bros writing the script?
That was before the roommate created that endless loop of "Biko".
Emerson several inches above is right. TG is doing comedic activism and dare, but without any actual comedic ideas. Absurdist pranks are not jokes - and him ambushing passersby on the street is symbolic for his annoying comedy without ideas (of course, that's all subjective). The comparison to SBC does not fit…
Dr., I can only urge you to try "Battlefield Earth", although that has a lot of professional work in it that is hilariously messed up.
I am still mad …
… that our babysitter failed and we could not get to Chicago and watch this. But, as a famous psychologist said, life is messy.
Where are these delirious-half detailed half vague-memory of childhood questions ("A half bald clown was on TV, singing "light my fire" on the melody of "Old McDonald"; then a couple of pink elephants or big hamsters came in a parade, every one sinking in a little more than the one before, while a child's voice off…
There is only one true badass, and this is what's said about him:
"My guy in D.C. tells me that we are not dealing with a student here, we're dealing with the Professor. Any time the military has an operation that can't fail, they call this guy in to train the troops, OK? He's the kind of guy that would drink a gallon…
Ok, it's breast cancer …. but WHAT KIND OF BREAST CANCER?
WHAT KIND OF BREAST CANCER?
There are a lot of quotes in this thread I 'd like to understand but don't.
It's good to hear that he may be a nice guy, but boy, on "shut up", he sounded like the ultimate arrogantg jerk, without a trace of self depreciation … how he ranted about that poor person forgetting to turn off the cell phone. Yes, it's annoying, but turning off the call phone is so easily forgotten, and DC is not…
heltfelt, thank you for the link. It's much better than expected. It makes up a little for missing his energy drink at walmart, that really did hurt … but it's alright.
A lot of love for I am legend - it seemed to be written by a 14 year old. The only strong point I noted were the shots of deserted Manhattan, and even those were too much (o yeah, bambi gets killed just when WS aims at it, by a lion … speared by a unicorn would have been more original).
All this Ferrell stuff …. let me be a god samaritan ghere. how about the phone call to Cox in "Burn after reading"?
JCR was great in walk hard, but the most amazing things about this movie are the script and his singing, not his (very good) acting.
Where is the love for "Burn after reading"? Great performances by everyone involved …
why, 1234, there is a difference between genuine eccentrity/craziness and consciously building a myth of craziness, isn't there? What is so bad about not liking the latter?
Even though I like WH and some of his movies (Fitzcarraldo, his documentaries), I am getting wary of his volitional eccentrities for self promotion.
