Herbie Stempel!
Great interview, but I wish he'd talked a little more about Quiz Show. It's one of my favorite movies, probably the first movie I saw Turturro in, and he just inhabited that role so perfectly that it's always a bit of a shock when I see him playing a guy who isn't an annoying know-it-all from Queens.

Ball is in . . . parking lot.

Maybe try cleaning the dick cream off of your mouse.

This bra bomb better work, Nerdlinger!

Chris Weitz has had a strange career
How do you debut with "American Pie," go on to make "About a Boy," then suddenly do a couple of big budget franchise (or, in the case of "The Golden Compass," aspiring-franchise) movies, then make a foreign-language film with a no-name cast? It's a fairly short resume, but it's

"Music was so much better in [decade]! [Miley Cyrus/Justin Bieber/Lady Gaga] wishes they could do something this good!"

Here's a First World Problem for ya:
Reading an article with 0 comments and having nothing clever to say.

I wonder if Idi Amin has any restaurant recommendations.

I just hope that if Sean ever has to write Ratner's obituary, he doesn't try to go the somber and respectful route.

The "educational" TMBG songs (Mammal, Meet James Ensor, etc.) are some of my favorites; I've quoted the final verse of "James K. Polk" word for word when making the case for Polk as an underrated president.

Hey, that's pretty neat. I know Cougar Town, Desperate Housewives and (briefly) NewsRadio had similar song/album title schemes. Anyone know of any others?

She's in the first season of Veronica Mars, and that's definitely worthwhile.

NEVER FORGET

Yeah, that's the way I took it, too. It makes more sense that George Michael would be traumatized by a circus freak, anyway. The only things that traumatized Michael as a child seem to be his father and J. Walter Weatherman.

Of course they're married. They've definitely consummated it, too, so they can't get annulled.

The Coupe rap about Marxist revolution and sporty cars.

A is A
Having never seen this show and knowing almost nothing about it, I'm amused by the fact that there's a character named just A. Is he an objectivist superhero? Or a character in an 18th century novel, like the Marquis de M________?

Screenwriting advice
Since we know this guy has a passion for View-Masters, maybe he could incorporate one into Daredevil. Like, the bad guys have outlined their evil plan in View-Master slides, and Daredevil is helpless to decode it.

"The nicest punk flophouse owned by NOFX's Fat Mike"
Fat Mike owns other punk flophouses, but they are much shittier.

A rigid performance? By January Jones?
Well, now I've heard everything.
