He's like the Carmen SanDiego of werewolves.

That's a truly devious moment of inspiration.

Are we grading music on a curve now? If not, can we start?

Otto, do I correctly infer from your story that this "friend" traveled to Australia, then returned to Canada carrying with him a jar of Vegemite, which he then used to prank you? If so, that may be the worst thing I've ever heard (probably not, though). Who carries Vegemite halfway around the world on purpose? Was

No, JVS, I think you nailed it.

I have to disagree with the Reed's recommendation. I find it too sweet and not spicy enough. I prefer Stewart's. The best one I've found came in brown Red-Stripe-shaped bottles and is called Jamaican Old Tyme Ginger Beer, but I haven't seen it since I left Rhode Island many years ago. Regatta is okay, a little

Definitely reading some Vernor Vinge. Our children's children sound like they've passed the singularity.

Damn it!
I missed a Chang cameo last week. When's the next one? How 'bout some warning next time.

* delete the "slightly" please.

While Vegemite is indeed terrible, it is not quite as bad as Marmite, which is, in turn, slightly not quite as bad as Bovril. ::shudder::

Good ginger beer is tough to find in my neighborhood in New York, which is a damn shame. Whenever I do find an acceptable brand, I stock up so I can make Dark 'n' Stormies. I'll have to check out this Goose Island stuff.

I had a shelf space issue when I moved back to New York. I just bought a bunch of those big 200+ CD books and moved all my discs into those. Problem solved. I still buy CDs. You might consider that, Immaculate.

Haven't heard this yet
But, I'm going to see them at Red Rocks this Friday. I'm excited about the show because I've never seen them and Red Rocks is such a great venue. I'll probably pick this up after I see the show.

Some of these got out of order, I think.

16. Pinch cheeks.

Since this is the firstie thread, it seems an appropriate place to note that I'm about at 3 on Amelie's 1-10 scale. It would be more appropriate if I were at 1, but I'm not. I consider 1 the I'm-about-to-climb-a-belltower-with-a-sniper-rifle level, and I just don't care that much.

Damn, Rev.: fucking, SJP, Juliette Lewis, and Edward James Olmos. That's just an appalling train wreck of stuff that doesn't belong together in my head. Now I feel like puking. Not just the throw-up-a-little-bit-in-my-mouth kind that's so popular on the interwebs.
