I saw him back in 92 during the Off the Deep End tour. It wasn't a gigantic venue, I'd say around 1500 seats, but after the show he waited around until every single attendee who wanted to got the chance for a picture with him and an autograph. For ten year old me this was like meeting the Beatles, and my autographed

Yeah, sadly I think pre-Dorne Jaime is lost forever.

Unless his speech to Edmure was just a lazy way to make us realize that him finally going against Cersei is a big deal. Instead of him gradually moving away from her through a series of humbling experiences that show him losing faith in the narrative he's made for himself, it'll be a "Hey look I'm doing the opposite

Yeah I don't know what's going on there. They made it very clear that his motivation was still 100% Cersei and now I guess he's headed back to King's Landing with no real change. Maybe he'll have a change of heart if she burns King's Landing to the ground, but there's been no indication we're headed that way.

The takeaway is that Edmure ruins everything.

Works for Dorne.

Why did we get a close up of a townsperson dumping a bucket of water on the ground if Arya or the Waif wasn't going to comically slip on it? Just because it's a dramatic show doesn't mean people can't slip and fly into the air with a slide whistle sound from time to time.

The Padme thing might have worked if it had been clearly established that Anakin had some fantastic gift at foreseeing the future. If the Jedi Council had frequently used his foresight to their own advantage and then when it came to someone he cared about given him the "visions don't always come true" crap it would

Those are pretty strong points, especially since it's pretty clear Olgierd was a horrible person before he made any kind of deal. I can also see Geralt being smart enough in supernatural lore to avoid tangling with O'Dimm any more than he has to. Putting Geralt's soul on the line for Olgierd is a pretty tall order.

Those archespores are brutal, even to someone who sucked the marrow from the base game. It's also frustrating because they were early game monsters in the first Witcher game that are now somehow deadly to a much more experienced Geralt.

Great review, looking forward to listening to this one. Hopefully seeing them for the first time at the end of July, and I'm glad they apparently haven't entered the "Please don't play the new stuff!" phase. Bands I liked as a teenager shouldn't be to that point yet…right?

Another of the many joys of getting older is suddenly feeling nostalgic at songs you were sick of when you were younger. It's like late-onset Stockholm Syndrome.

I've tried with ESO, I really have, but it's just never felt right. There are the obvious MMO issues, and as someone whose been around since Arena it's starting to bug me how cartoony the series is getting in tone.

There's still plenty to do in Daggerfall! By the time you finish all of the infinite quests there, Bethesda will probably be ready to announce a new TES.

This is why it's so important to ask someone their opinion on Ancient Egypt early in any relationship. I cannot emphasize this enough. It's awkward to bring up, but you don't want to wait until your wedding night to find out your partner thinks the pyramids are landing beacons for Thor.

I don't see them as self-denying, rather they see what works for them as a moral imperative for the universe. It's more like self-aggrandizing. I suppose it's all tied in to a lack of empathy.

In my experience there's a weird overlap between straight edge folk and wild misogyny/hardcore conservative viewpoints.

A good friend briefly worked for the company during this time, and from the stories I've heard that article is far too nice.

She used up all her mana on the "Resurrect Corpse" spell. The only way to recharge is to drink a potion or rest at an inn, both of which are in short supply in the north.

I like Hunchback more than most. When they do go after the more mature themes, the movie is actually pretty effective. The problem is a fear of committing to the dark tone, so you get godawful singing gargoyles.
