"The owners of a corporation are stockholders, which include dear grandpa, 401k contributors,"

Corporations heavily influence the government. Corporate lobbyists write legislation on the floor of Congress. There's a revolving door with former Republican majority leader Eric Cantor recently scoring a high paying job in the finance sector. Government is somewhat democratically accountable with people able to vote

Battlestar Galactica reboot?

So many comments. Any speculation as to what the sergeant was alluding to when he told the girl, "we'll tell them later"? That they like to eat people every now and then?

The military scientist with the mullet provides a little comic relief but I like the doctor, druggie guy on Z Nation better. He doesn't take things too seriously.

Soylent Green is people!

He was one of those MTV VJs from way back who was like an SNL skit even though he was serious. Hip dude sporting baseball hat on backwards!

I remember this being a huge story at the time. See The Bridge.

Nick and Amy Dunne from Gone Girl are The Worst. Much more worse than Gretchen and Jimmy. By the way, the news is reporting that there are now more single people than married people.

Bill Maher had a good satire of it.

I remember first seeing Matthew McConaughey and Ben Affleck both in Dazed and Confused. Coincidence?

Haven't seen the movie yet and read the book a while ago, so here are my half-baked opinions about Amy. I saw the creators on Charlie Rose last night and Pike and Flynn talked a bit about Amy's background.

Okay, sorry. I should have read your comment history instead of assuming, which I have now.

Your logic doesn't hold up. It was unknowable what would happen if the creature lived, so yeah Clara lucked out, but people make their own luck.
