It does seem like they're trying to sex the show up which is never a good sign but I've enjoyed the first two episodes. Basically Julie Benz is awesome so I'm rooting for Amanda.

World religions would just incorporate it into their previously held equally bizarre beliefs. No doubt it would spawn new cults. It would spawn a new a conspiracy industry like 9/11 and the JFK assassination. Oliver Stone would make a movie about it.
The corporate media was talking about the plane because they have nothing else to talk about. So yeah the corporate media would cover the 2 percent b/c they have nothing else to talk about and they'd cover it ad nauseum.
How did it change the political landscape? How are things different?
I'm another one who thinks 2 percent wouldn't be a big deal for society. It would be tragic for friends and loved ones. I'm just kind of jaundiced or cynical about society.
I liked it too. Pretty well done. And Dr. Who is the Cardinal.
It's obviously based on Uday Hussein and Bashar Al-Assad. (Though I doubt Al-Assad was friends with a Syrian journalist like the guy on the show.) I disagreed with Todd's review about Barry's "flatness." Of course he can judge off of 3 or 4 episodes, but I saw his flatness or affectlessness - which his wife complained…
Am I being successfully pandered to if I identify with the local journalist?
Well yeah it's exciting as long as you have the option to return to your original culture. "Nice place to visit."
Who in turn is doing a Jean Reno impersonation from Ronin.
No I think most people get weirded out when they leave the familiarity of their own culture. The Republican Party these days is not much more than a temper tantrum over the fact that their culture is changing because of "exotic" influences.
That's too bad that the reviewer didn't love it because the show has such a great premise and it's so timely. (The dictator of Egypt just jailed 3 journalists. Sectarian radicals in Iraq are partitioning the country.) The subject matter is so consequential and stark. Oil. Nukes. Occupation. I'll watch it; hopefully…
Yes I liked the high note. Sarah started off on her own, except for Felix and Kira. She was going to use Beth Childe's identity to get Kira, ditch Vic and skip town.
I loved the finale. The dance party was a great boob tube moment. Guest stars Michelle Forbes and Michiel Huisman are awesome.
io9 is discussing it.
Don't forget Biodome.
Constantine and Supernatural have similar mythos, no?
Baldoni was on Legend of the Seeker!
Well he knew what Malvo was now. Still obviously he should have called the cops right away. He was afraid his wife would have been killed trying to apprehend Malvo. I do think if Malvo hadn't stepped in the steel trap he would have killed Gus so Gus lucked out.
