Sociologically-speaking, nobody wants to be at the bottom of the economic ladder. The best thing anyone can do for you, in that case, is to ensure somebody is worse off than you are. Mexicans, Muslims, gays, blacks: demonize them, the OTHER, and you're at least making sure someone is worse off than poor whites. I'm

Man, I HATE this show.

Things: The Movie!!

The A.V. Club.

But not a twirlable-length one. It's too close to just stubble. He can't twirl stubble!

Interesting. Maybe I'll have to check out this Divinity business. I just really liked Solar's super hero-meets-quantum theory with Cyclops' visor angle.

Wow. That is……something.

That's true. I guess if you bothered to look beyond the ultraviolent, cross-hatched and foil embossed stuff there was legit good stuff being done.

Odd side note: I saw they made an X-O Manowar beer recently to celebrate the new Valiant. I found it bizarre that of all comic book properties, THAT'S the one they made a beer for.

Giving up on comics in the 90's was….the right response. I hung on for a couple years before giving them up, myself.

No Weapon X? I knew him from his X-Men issues (Lifedeath), and then that one.

I know. I want to like Valiant, but I really only followed Solar back in the day. The Solar stuff that was put out in the last few years doesn't really compare to that run, either.

He was kind of Valiant's secret weapon in terms of art, when they started out. That guy's never been given his due in the wake of the Image guys.

SOLAR. The origin story and first arc were great.

At least they had Barry Windsor-Smith, a legit GREAT artist, to do that cover for issue #1.

I was actually into both back in 1985, so it worked well for me.

Churches! Churches!

Littlefinger really needs to grow a mustache, so he can twirl it whenever he's on screen.

I dunno. I was on board with the band for awhile, but they come off to me like 90's U2…which is something I liked at the time, but this seems a bit labored. I may just be too old to care.

What if the pouches get ripped? That's right: patches for pouches.
