Anyone else make it through the entirety of Mission Earth? I did. I wish I could have that year of my life back.

You were better than I was. I read the whole thing. I must have thought the sheer size indicated it must have been notable or good. In hindsight, it's the worst thing I've ever read, and like you, I'm not sure how this was able to be purchased by kids. Just atrociously bad.
D'awwwwwwwwww, Internet!
I only had time on Sunday, but likewise. I tried tackling a few shrines, and even came upon a cool island—you might know the one if you've encountered it, too—but didn't manage to actually beat any of them. But I almost have more fun determinedly NOT chasing each next main objective. "Hey, what's over here? …
I suppose that's an accomplishment. But doesn't it sort of miss the whole point of the game?
Reed-ing is fundamental.
Making Game of Thrones much like Derek Smalls…….lukewarm water.
I agree with both points. I didn't mind that Legolas was included, but I didn't like how he was ultimately handled. The ninja stuff was dumb.
The singing dwarves were in the book, too.
Me neither. I don't think there's any argument the Hobbit movies are weaker than the LOTR, for a variety of reasons. But saying they'd "be better if they had just stuck to the book", or a single movie, to me, doesn't indicate much familiarity with the book. We all love it, yes. But it doesn't work seamlessly as…
Well no, you're not following. Your first two points are accurate. I'm saying, if the book was going to be made into a film anyway, the direction Jackson took with it was, I think, justified by the work Tolkein himself had done in re-writing and re-contextualizing the book as he did. Otherwise, you wind up with a…
Well, Tolkein seemingly didn't want it made into a movie at all, and the estate has all but disowned all of Jackson's movies. But I think the fact that Tolkein re-wrote parts of the Hobbit to fit in better with LOTR indicates he wasn't satisfied with it. Whether the movies' execution worked is certainly debatable,…
Agreed wholeheartedly. Particularly points 2 and 4. I was familiar enough with the Hobbit that, when they announced they were making it into a movie (or movies), I wondered how they could reconcile the Hobbit's singing-elves stuff and other fairy-tale tones to the portentous saga that was LOTR. Tolkein himself…
One of my first comics as a kid was an issue of the Defenders, which happened to feature Valkyrie on the team.
Pretty cool. If only the franchise as a whole was as consistent/good as this video makes it look.
That's fair enough, and I could certainly be proven wrong. I think the immigrants thing had a more focused point to make, against a more specific piece of legislation and movement on the right. I don't think anyone is really suggesting women not be part of the workforce, and it's not like there's any real threat…
The overall thing.
You know, it's not that I disagree with any of the things this action is in support of. But—and I may just be a cynic here—I don't see this accomplishing anything, either.
Just LOVING this game. I simply can't wait to get back to it. I've often wished some game environments were "real" in some way, but this one is more real than most. Honestly, the closest approximation I can come up with is actually Red Dead Redemption: the vast landscapes to explore, the sense of loneliness, and…
I suppose this is the nature of faith—if you subscribe to it, you might see symbolism and such that others don't see, or assign significance that others don't. I'm mostly of the mind that any religious themes in this movie were simply picked up by the cowboy/American west trappings it so obviously wanted to trade in.…
