I'm impressed that you remember that stuff. I know I watched all of the countless hours of documentaries and audio commentaries, but about the only thing I remember of them was their sheer duration. I remember feeling like I'd just spent several years making the movies after watching them.

It's already on its way—I should have it tonight. Looking forward to it!

Rutabaga.

BTW, I just discovered that this book was just released. Not that I really need to cram more stuff on the shelf, but I'm afraid I'll need to pick this up. I thought I'd mention it if you hadn't already heard about it, considering your Claremont read-through: http://sequart.org/books/42…

Perhaps an intense argument about phrygian mode, and whether or not it contained a flatted 7?

I think that's definitely when NIN 2.0 started. The Fragile seemed like the conclusion of their first era in a lot of ways.

Except that first "N" should be backwards, as we all know.

It's waiting in the wings. It speaks of senseless things!

Well, I suppose that's true, but it always seems that becomes a reductive argument, if it's anything that took place after, what, the early 80's?

People would think you're a douche, too, if editorial mandate forced you to ditch your wife and baby and go back to hanging out with your dead-but-not-really ex-girlfriend.

I see a fair amount of theater these days due to my gf's connections. And I'm not big on a lot of musicals in general. But I actually kind of liked American Idiot. I think a lot of people dislike it because musicals aren't "punk", but I kind of liked the ambition.

You've got a lot of time on your hands, internet!

I suppose I knew it, but I never quite acknowledged how the subsequent Vacation movies (well, Christmas, anyway—I don't remember European) followed the original movie's template, climactic rant and all.

That was indeed me! Glad you like 'em! I'm in the same situation—got 1 and 3, waiting on 2. I'm currently reading just after Byrne's start on the book, with their second encounter with Magneto. It's fairly amazing how "silver-agey" the book started with Claremont, and how it just kept getting better, more modern,

After "Inferno", I think maybe even Claremont himself wanted a break. He practically wrote himself one, with the "teamless era" that followed shortly thereafter.

Catchy tune! Thanks for the tip.

But will the soundtrack feature long synth drones that slowly distort and glitch? What about major thirds that are used to sound creepy, rather than happy?

Well it IS coarse. And it's irritating. And it gets everywhere!

Yeah, the Evolutionary War was my introduction to him as well. The X-Men annual he appeared in is still one of my favorites.

I was never a huge Springsteen fan, but I liked him. So when the Live from NY City special was to originally air on HBO, I was intent on watching it. This was when I was in Chicago, shortly after moving here. As I was hurrying home that night to catch it, I happened to pass a bar that was all set to show the
