I was always artistically inclined as a kid, up through college. (Lots of doodles and drawings of comic book characters back in the day, but I took some classes in college, and did some decent work before walking away from it.) 20+ years later, I've decided to see if I can't rekindle that spark, by taking classes at

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to look that one up.

Regarding libraries: I'm a big fan of the Hoopla app. Tons of books, comics, TV, and movies, all free. I didn't like paying for streaming services, but this is a great way to check stuff out you may or may not want to buy later.

I meant trajectory as in they hadn't gotten any more popular in those four years, and were still opening for the same band.

I saw them open for Depeche Mode. Twice. Over a span of 4 years. It didn't seem to bode well for their trajectory as a band.

Yeah, I noticed. It's too bad. I'm not sure Solar was ever a particularly great superhero before or after, but that origin story that Barry Windsor-Smith drew was simply phenomenal.

*Whispers* The spice!

"Choose Darkseid. Choose Apokolips. Choose the New Gods…"

Hm. I remember when Valiant, and Harbinger, were hot new things.

It's hard for me to imagine a Zelda movie being any good—the property is pretty goofy and doesn't make a lot of sense to begin with. Which story do you use? Do you even try to incorporate elements from all the games, or just pick one and go with it? And it always comes down to something-something-Triforce, magic,

Oddly, I don't think it ever appeared anywhere else. And it's not like he didn't release CD singles it could have fit on.

Reality Bites had that one.

I picked this up not too long ago, actually, just to get the original take of the U2 song, the Depeche Mode one, and then all the rest. I think I'll get the Cool World one next. It seems like the 90's had a great soundtrack out every year or two—you could kind of track the evolution of "alternative" music through

I had no idea music, as an art form, peaked in March of '82. You've got Vangelis, Pac Man Fever, J Geils Band, and Huey Lewis. We've all been fools to continue this charade after that.

That's true. Though with Wolverine, I feel like Marvel is having their cake and eating it, too. There's still a grumpy old guy named Logan running around. The difference between "Wolverine classic" and "Old Man Logan" is pretty much just not wearing the costume, and a different hair color.

Indeed. I find it odd he was, and maybe even continues to be considered one of Marvel's A-level characters. I think back in the 70's-early 80's, he was second only to Spider-Man in terms of popular exposure. All for a guy who gets mad, turns green, and smashes things.

It seems kind of sad to me that the Hulk was one of the first superheroes I loved as a kid, due to the old TV show. (I am old.) Bought the costume for Halloween, had a Hulk action figure, bought an issue of Defenders from a spinner rack just because it had the Hulk in there. But since about age 8 or so, I find

Well, in terms of replacing a classic hero with a new, usually "diverse" character, this makes even more sense than most.

I don't know what it says about me, but I really didn't have any problems with the movies. They were silly, yes, but I think the character is pretty silly by design. Nic Cage got to ham it up, and they were decent enough. I'm not expecting a flaming skull-headed demon biker of vengeance to become an Oscar-caliber

They're not just human….they're IN-human.
