we want our film, my wife said the same thing.

given the commercial bumps abc was broadcasting with this show, i'd say the network doesn't trust its viewers to drool for themselves. 'remember the kangaroo - it could be important!' - thanks abc, i have the attention span of a gnat.

just talkin bout megaweapon!

he's the gintyest!

yeah, i was beginning to feel very alone here in loving this movie. clearly, the consensus is negative, so there's not much point in discussing, but here it goes : i think the problem most people have with this film is they feel that it tries to be too self-consciously quirky, and ends up unrealistic and plotless.

he told his agent he didn't want to be typecast.

i like 'huckabees.' gets better every time. most people don't. i get that.

joe vegas : that was fucking funny. i'm gonna be thinking that a lot now when there's some crazy twist with more food.

no, the best lifetime movie title for me is 'mother, may i sleep with danger?'

i saw 'batman & robin' in a theater in western mass. it may have colored my view of the area somewhat.

jake, i can dig it.

otto : that's actually a concern i've had lately. i worry that too much of my critical opinion is 'avclub-centric.'

i comment because my five smart friends don't like any of the same things i do. they mostly don't even like the same genre of things i do, like television (some of them don't watch television). these differences are why they're my friends, but sometimes it's nice to discuss with people who watch the shitty shows and

i'd argue with you elitist trash, but it would be the equivalent of arguing with a dining room table.

or, alternately, you're wrong.

re: his 24 horror-thon - that was fantastic. i'm still working my way through it.

i just wonder if the eli roth haters here even like horror films, especially the 'hostel 2' haters. that film was just so brilliant and subversive about capitalism, gender roles, american machismo, globalization, etc. i keep thinking that there are still critics who think 'dawn of the dead' is just a goofy zombie

there's no greater sin to ramsey than not caring or giving up. i'm shocked he didn't send jim home earlier. or amanda last week, who didn't really put up much of a fight to stay.

she makes me laugh. mostly at her, but not always. she's perfect for this show and ramsey really only respects people who fight back; that's why he didn't even comment that she wasn't considered for elimination. but, only if they ain't nobody's bitch.

i must be the only one here who liked 'grindhouse' and kevin smith movies. i'm also probably the oldest, so i guess, like the weinsteins themselves, my taste has atrophied with age.
