its in the music
lately, two songs i know i'll be listening to in ten years are mogwai's 'i love you, i'm going to blow up your school' and dosh's 'building a strange child'. and everytime in the last year i play the roots' 'criminal,' i feel right, brian. i feel right.

i'd take yankee hotel over ghost, and like swimming over everything.

kids are on fire in the bedroom.

i started with 'in the backseat'. nothing else they've done ever lived up to that for me.

i second bon iver. changed my life last year.

and women. he hated women.

seems to me they'd spend a good portion of their time giving alien abortions.

i say no more than 15 to 20 million. depending on the breaks.

man, i love 'taste of armageddon.' really one of those episodes that best shows off kirk's 'your bible is a lie!' contempt for the prime directive so important to later captains. plus, if i remember correctly, it has my favorite line from scotty : 'the best diplomat i know is a fully loaded phaser bank.'

good call. humans cannot keep their imperfections from their creations, especially when they try to create perfection.

okay, reading the interview made me madder. 'i wanted kara to be an enigma. nothing we came up with was as satisfactory as ambiguity.' blow me.

okay, 'your roomba has a plan' made me laugh.

parma, fhtagn, hilarious.

as much as visiting 'modern' earth is distasteful and the robot montage felt a bit cheesy, the point for me was not 'be scared of your roomba'. the point for me was 'it is happening again. nothing can stop it.' it's not 'robots are evil,' it's that human nature is imperfect and our imperfections are inevitable in

i do remember liking next generation's ending a lot.

yeah, this episode really justified my faith in baltar. some of my friends thought he was the worst part of the show, but his arc's finale, plus the snarkiness of his angel just made me feel as smug as he looked.

i spent the entire last hour of the episode thinking 'oh god this is horseshit.' not the character stuff, which was mostly on target, though i still don't get the whole 'kara's disappeared' thing. it was that 'great, you don't want the cycle. but your fucking grandkids might not feel the same, and willful ignorance

enough with your fancy high school musical references.

mmmmm . . . basement.

just for the record
i'm still reading the sxsw film reviews. there were no comments when i finished reading, so i wanted to throw that out there.
