In Nashville:

Realism
I think Falling Skies is a more realistic show than Franklin and Bash. It's as if they'd asked retarded children to write the scripts for L.A. Law. Or for anybody who's ever seen That Mitchell and Webb Look, it looks like the law show the recurring hack TV writers would come up with.

I think it's fun to discriminate against atheists, because they have no basis in which to argue that it violates their rights.

And this came out in 1955. You didn't do this shit in 1955. And not just the weirdness. You didn't make your protagonist a sadistic thug in 1955. Fucking Marty won the Oscar for Best Picture in 1955. This is a film you can legitimately call groundbreaking.

Which half didn't make it?

And what about the Hitler bit in Little Nicky where they shove a pineapple up his ass?

What about Space Mountain? I mean, that's the ride everybody likes. And it would happen in space.

Turn on This American Life and you'll hear about one of these stories at least once a week.

They have sad eyes and they smell.

If you're guarded and ever-aware and deferential to the star-making machinery surrounding you, we hate you.

Oh, and Win Butler has the most punchable face in contemporary alternative music. He's indie rock's Breckin Meyer.

Yeah, it's like the Onion's main site. Does *every* news story they tell have to be made up? It would be much better if they told serious news stories every once and while. All that satire and irony…. God guys, we get the point already.

"Nobody move!"

@ C.C.
Melinda and Melinda is not a reheating of C&M as much as it is a total ripoff of the format. A clumsy rip-off full of stilted dramatic scenes and completely unfunny comedy scenes. Will Ferrell - and I happen to think he can be hilarious - was a terrible Woody proxy. But the movie overall told two stories

I thought Walk Hard was weak. I might have mustered a smile or two, but otherwise, meh.

It's card sharp, actually.
