ooh, brainstorm…
nickname: Casa-no-clue?

nah… "Grinchin" doesn't really work, does it… Wretchen?

yay, Gretchen-hate!
can anyone remind me why Grinchin won the first challenge? i seem to remember her making a sad, featureless black trapezoid with sparkly shoulder pads.

they don't like her in some of the early primary states. i forget which state it was in particular, probably new hampshire, but her numbers there put her behind Romney and at least a couple others.

oh.

russell's collection
when russell and talbot were having their little spat, talbot said, "first the [something], now a telepath… all you care about is your precious collection!"

jessica makes every scene a success. i was terrified that the show was going to kill her off or let bill kick her out. thank goodness they have more sense than that.

…or as they call it, "maize."

@MikePfunn, your 1984esque interpretation is my new favorite thing of today. Coco Rocha is jumping for joy because she's sooooo happy to be a beta!

speak & spell was awesome. as was speak & math.

automatic A+ for sparing us so many episodes of Hatjob Jerkface McStraightie
i loathe him and wish him failure in all his endeavors beyond employment in customer service somewhere. it's refreshing to see the judges and fellow contestants largely agree with the reality of someone's undeniable odiousness. also, it's

your comment calls to mind some recent research, voraciously beblogged throughout my rss universe, to the effect that only the truly incompetent are ignorant of their lack of competence. i'd hazard a strong guess that the only people still unaware of what the word "literally" means just aren't going to learn.

literally.

WWTW, favorite episode of atheists everywhere
i remember being surprised and delighted at the degree to which the episode, through the mouthpiece of our hero picard, essentially denounced religion and endorsed atheistic skepticism as the proper route to having an advanced civilization capable of scientific progress.

Stewart's "line must be drawn" acting in first contact was totally over the top, and even given his personal history with the borg, it's still hard to fathom him losing his reason that much. least favorite part of the movie by far.

SCIENCE
i have this theory that Angelina has Wernicke's aphasia. this explains why she has fluently produced speech and yet:

Hannigan ftw
i feel vindicated that Noel also liked willow's wardrobe woes even more than anya's angst.

i haven't even seen the episode and somehow even i know that's the explanation. i thought the continuity break was explicitly covered in dialogue, and the reasons behind it were supposed to be implicitly obvious? so, unpiss yourself!

@Milkman: i made a list of the planet express scenes of the past that played out. it's in Hambone's thread, "As soon as I'm old enough".

the Big Crunch is out of vogue. the universe is expanding at an accelerating rate.
