I always figured that shot was just visual shorthand in the mindmeld to help Kirk understand, not the literal view Spock had, but that he more likely felt the mass psychic trauma of the event. But that ice moon must be somewhere in the Vulcan system. *pushes glasses up nose* Ales for everyone!

You should listen to the commentary track—the creators are just so proud of themselves for this one! It coulda been real creepy too, with the original art style, but the reboot looks too cartoony.
