Hahahaha I had forgotten about that scene.

when I watched Missio I got excited as soon as the credits were rolling because I saw that Jed Whedon and Marissa Tencheraun were envolved and I had just finished watching their work on Dollhouse and was still on withdrawl from that other show I liked so much so it was awesome and by the time that Gannicus and Melitta

I got my nephew to start watching the show while I was watching GOTA so he saw that season first and then Blood and Sand. Good thing I saw this episode first and prevented him from watching the opening scene that shows a dying Batiatus. Man now that I think about it it must have been so amazing for him seeing

You have definitely been busy as I've been away, lol. Let's keep going!!!

I am downloading the pilot as we speak. Well as I type.

Aaah a friend of mine from work has recommended that show to me and I've read good things about it. I'm glad you liked it, I will give it a try too. Although I didn't read much of what you wrote about it because I'm a spoilerphobe :p

Ok, all you guys @avclub-9d6c64439586bfd827deb5baefedbee6:disqus and @avclub-a6a946fbaecb91e1673d370aa16d3043:disqus have valid points and I agree that all finales were really exciting by default so I guess it is easy to just include them. With that said I agree that the first episode of War of the Damned is an

It is like the whole season was buliding towards that: brothers uniting to fight the system.

Hahaha, I remember laughing pretty hard when I heard a similar comment on the show.

Aaah you brought up a good point about "Kill Them All" not being as emotionally exhausting as the other finales, which I guess it makes it even more fun in retrospective. I would have to rewatch everything again to see if I feel the same about Wrath of the Gods and Kill them All. So I guess this makes GOTA's finale

I think this is a time where EPIC is the most appropriate word to describe something.

On another note, what are the most exciting episodes from the show? For you guys? Regardless of best/worst/whatever.

Maybe when I rewatch the season I will be more objective since the surprise element from all the episodes will be gone, but the thing is that there is a good chance that as soon as I see Crixus tapping into that shield again I will forget about everything else that came before, lol.

Cock hardens at thought of Spartacus living through comment thread.

Umm there's a tough one… OK, let's play this game. I liked GotA's finale but I don't remember it being as cool as the other three so that one's at the end. The first one singlehandedly managed to keep me on edge for that show during almost two years… Vengeance's I have to consider Ilithya and Lucretia's scenes, plus

That is true, and the funny thing is that on the episode he died, during his "shall we begin" scene he was as cocky as ever and I was loving every minute of it, I had no idea I missed cocky Crixus. I also must say that seeing his humble beginnings during Gods of The Arena helped me like the character more as well.

Oh, man I cannot play the "rate the episodes game" but I agree with all of what you guys said. Howevere I can't objectively choose an episode from the first season above Kill Them All.

Your comments are much appreciated.

Oh, man when Crixus taps on that shield…CHILLS!!!

I believe this is the first time I actually got CHILLS while watching this show. After that closing scene I could feel it in my bones that as amazing as this episode had been the next one would be even MORE amazing and it lived up to my expectations.
