I had a heck of a time getting through it - such a slog, and that voiceover was interminable - I was the only person in our group who stayed awake through the whole thing.  But it did have its charms, and with a few good edits (like, an hour's worth) it could still be a fun movie.

Hard to believe, but Sean William Scott is just plain excellent in Southland Tales, which is otherwise unwatchable.  But he's really, really good in it.

It's one of the rare punk films that's not just about punk but actually is punk.  It doesn't care about genre or continuity, and fuck you for asking.  And at the same time, it's fully aware how stupid that sounds, and pokes holes in its own pretensions.  And it's quotable as all hell.
