And if the Frank Ocean track hadn't been lost. It's too bad they ran out of time to re-record it.

I think I may be the only person who thinks "Pink Matter" is one of the weaker tracks - a bit flabby in the construction, and pleasant enough but ill-placed between "Bad Religion" and "Forrest Gump".

There are a couple of minor stumbles, but on the whole I think it's a solid A-. There's no doubt people are giddy at how well everything came together (meaning his letter, the live performance, the unusual roll-out) and some of that enthusiasm may deflate, but fortunately it's so solid from start to end that I don't…

@avclub-c766c75666111cab4aa6bb75a5424bc0:disqus Yeah, definitely give Skelethon some time. It's a slow burn, like a lot of his best work. "Gopher Guts" was a good entry point for me, because it's one of the most raw things he's ever written.

One thing I do appreciate about the shootout is that it caps off an increasingly absurd string of genre shifts. It's like every twenty minutes we're watching a completely different movie, but somehow they're all seamless integrated. Oh, we've gone from screwball comedy to thriller in just a few scenes? Sure, why…

Popdust had a pretty thoughtful article on the trajectories of hype around Tyler and Frank Ocean. I'm looking forward to Wolf… He's got a great voice, and hopefully he's maturing into a more complex and interesting artist.

You joke, but they've been using Golf Wang for some time.

@avclub-84b4a393d7fe6b0b9fba562ae2062d21:disqus : the creepy Scots cottager's the one who says "Can ya eat the herring" - I just quoted his most famous line rather than reference him directly. Also awesome: the sustained game of exchanged glances during dinner, when Donat is trying to hide the newspaper headline…

Absolutely agreed. Robert Donat is so smooth in this movie, it's ridiculous. I feel like he's a better Cary Grant than even Cary Grant.

@avclub-f80aa233184527ebd7b36f7a59cf2e4e:disqus : Point me to a single source that says the connection was intentional on Nolan's part. Limbaugh's the only one who's making that insinuation. I just quoted the damned thing verbatim!
