But the thing is, the world RJ is describing is mostly static and quite dull while GRRM's world is dynamic and stuffed with oodles of fascinating history.  GRRM's world feels lived in and original while RJ's never feels anything but cliched, like RJ's conceit that time is a cycle that oscillates between  high fantasy

I had big hopes for Drag Me to Hell but it was like Evil Dead 2 with no evil and no dead. But I guess he has to make a living like everyone else. If Downey signs up though my interest might pique to hmmmm.

Just saw this at the bargain cinema and it definitely had its moments with its running Blaupunkt gags and grubes' funny/nauseating orgasms. Val Kilmer looked like the less ethnic version of Steven Seagal.
