@Bob K: I remember those. Who knew a popcorn ad without a Redenbacher could be sexy?

Seger Test
I prefer the Segar Test. My therapist said I was an INTP (Introverted Intuitive Thinking Popeye).

Another vote for Annie Potts. Maybe I need to watch Corvette Summer finally. Never thought I'd say that.

In Soviet Russia, you lens Lensman! With lenses!

Kids In The Hall
I'd like to thank Hitler.

Does anyone get served in this?
Because I watched "Are You Being Served" on PBS and no one was even dancing, let alone getting served. I don't want to be disappointed like that again.

Your responses to my comment seem calculated to drive me… batty? to distraction? Oh, nevermind, I shouldn't expect more from the usual gang of idiots.

Like reverse-engineered Mad magazine parodies
Nice line, Mr. Phipps, and a spot-on description of the movies in question.

I'm with you. Oliver is screwed, and he will blame no one more than himself for everything that's going on.

@marcopolomint: I wonder what "extremely mediocre" American shows you're talking about? I think I could agree almost as easily as disagree with you, depending on which shows you name.

Theater, once, first run. Loved it right away, mostly for John Goodman. Subsequent rewatchings on DVD have made me appreciate Bridges more and more. It's one of only three movies I can watch again and again without getting tired of them.

Awesome City Arizona!
I considered buying this on region 2 DVDs. I'm glad I won't have to now.

Hurt
He looked fairly young in "I Claudius":

But I get no pass for that last sentence.

I'm with dougery on David Boring. I'm also probably in the minority in thinking that the Ghost World movie was disappointing compared to the comic.

I'm not a big fan of the long-form Eightball stories post "Ghost World", and the Art School Confidential movie is pretty lousy. Apart from those, he's been consistently good to great.

Can't believe I forgot the Beasties. I haven't really loved an album of theirs since Check Your Head, but Paul's Boutique would be enough on its own.

comics
Jaime Hernandez
Dan Clowes
Chris Onstad (too soon?)

He was the fourth Ghostbuster. Not a bad guy, but not in the same league as Murray, Aykroyd, and Ramis.

Seconded, except for Ernie Hudson.
